Alright I see now..

Well thanks
Whenever you can post up the new benchmark when you get that quad, post it up in this thread.

I've started looking into it...
how's this CPU? Havent been in the computer scene for such a long time I dont even know whats good or not anymore lol

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103288

Only AM2+ quad that runs 95W

Not very good for the price you can get a Athlon II X4 for $99 that will make that thing cry. Or you can get a Phenom II X3 710 for $110.

Edit: here are the CPU's your motherboard supports http://www.biostar-usa.com/app/en-us/mb/cpu_support.php?S_ID=394

That'd be much better.

Triple/Quad core and 65nm will pretty much do the trick for you here :)

It's pretty much the same what I'm doing :D

You'll get a big boost in pretty much all of your games, simply because that CPU has a hell of a lot more processing power than your current one, being able to feed your 4850 much more effectivly, giving you more FPS ;)

Just get a significant CPU upgrade an it'll improve the FPS in a lot of your games, simply because at 1680 x 1050, your CPU is bottleneckign your card, exactly like mine. :)

It's basically why people like to go for the good overclocking Dualies with a lot of cache, or a quad core with a massive production of performance, because a lot of games still need masses of CPU power to keep up with the newer graphics cards and games (GTAIV, badly optimized) in order to achieve the FPS that the card can produce.

Benches should be up in about 6 - 10 hours :)

Okay I have the results for my quad cpu.

The max I have the quad at right now is 3.5GHz. I've used all the same cars, tracks and bench timings / settings for all of these tests.

You'll get a 5-10% advantage going from 65>45nm, so... lets say. My 3.5GHz 65nm quad is the same as a 7GHz 65nm dual. effectivley a 6.5GHz E5200 at 45nm.

This extra performance gave my game an increase when the CPU was bottlenecking the card. In multicar races.

Here are the results.

You can see when in a Multicar race, without my dual bottlenecking the 4850, I've got around a 22% increase in FPS. Because of the quad.

I also notice the trend in other games. The performance hit is around the same, any games that you lag in, that are new and that you know your 4850 can handle, will be because of your CPU.

Lower your resolution / get a better cpu if you want to play at highest settings :)

Im now playable at 1920 x 1200 2AA/16AF Full settings MB OFF, any increase that I want now will happen when I upgrade my GPU.

Heres my FPS now at 1920 x 1050 2AA 16AF

During the start of the race where you're with like 20 supercars I'll drop down to 25fps.

I think I'll stick to 1680 x 1050 2AA so I can have a bit more performance and still have better lines than 0AA @ the higher resoltuion.

I get random lag with a few of my other games now because of the fact that I only have 512MB of vram :p

I may pick up a 4980 or a used GTX275

Its the CPU Bottle necking it all.

WIth one hd4870 i got a solid 60FPS and it never moved off 60. With xfire enabled i still get 60. As vsync is on. If turned off your FPS should increase a little bit.

the wow factor was there for me in the beginning, i didn't like it after that. Maybe cause the midnight club series was the best imo, and this isn't anything like that, i was never a fan of track or anything. .

I'm glad u like it though.
