I am having difficulty deciding between the Acer 8930G and the Acer 7736G. They seem very similar and i would appreciate and advice on which is the better of the two. I am looking to use the laptop as a desktop replacement and for some casual gaming. I've noticed they have different graphics cards and i was also wondering which is the better in that respect as well as overall.
Thanks

First of all, nice choice of an Acer - i have one and it's really good. I have had no issues with it.

For the laptops, looking at the specifications they are both the same, one has a little bit more info than the other, and one has a bigger screens size than the other.

I would chose based on screen size... one is 17.3 inches, and one is 18.4.... what would you rather?

Hope this helps and good luck.

Yep, lovin my Acer 6920G.

I'd choose the 8930. The other one doesn't specify what the screen resolution is, but the 8930 specifies full 1080p, rather than the lower resolutions found on other models. I think the gpu is also better in the 8930 too, but don't quote me on that. Other than that they're both nice and while the 8930 doesn't come with windows 7 it can always be easily upgraded.

The specs aren't the same, or even any better.

The one you provided above, has a slightly less processor than the others, hard drive isn't as big, screen isn't as big, but it does have a better graphics.

Would you say its better to stick with the 8930G. Is the graphics card better enough to warrant a purchase of the 5930G as i just need it for some casual gaming.

Yes, the 8930G would be better and that graphics card would be fine.

Plus the last one you listed also had a lower res screen. You can't even watch blu-rays in their native res on it, so theres no point to it.
