Leave it to get hotter ;)

or you could open the side of your case up, trouble with that is you get loads of dust in your computer

Best thing (but most expensive) is watercooling.
You can buy a cheap water cooling kit from here

so why dont you just call it a monitor. lol
i have seen some people just mount 80 or 120mm fans on top of there monitor and have it blow air or pull air out through holes in the monitor casing.

you can just unplug the monitor or turn it off unless you have no life and sits in front of it 24/7 lol.

There really isnt anything you can do. What kind of monitor is it? Most do get quite hot but to no harm. Older ones did used to overheat and fry though, just happened in my office a few days ago, smoke everywhere.

If you are concerned about it I would do some research on your model and brand to see if there has been any issues.

this remind me of smoke coming out of my tv, it was an old tv with nobs lol and made of woods lol those where the days, i threw it away, i think monitors last longer though since they have way more ventilations.
