Suggestions for an intro book to circuits, etc.?

Hi all. I'm interested in reading an introductory book that explains the basics of electricity, circuits, etc. because I'd love to know what exactly is going on in a motherboard, GPU, CPU, etc. Can anyone recommend a beginner's book for this topic?

but I'm not sure if it's focused more on *doing* than *learning*...i.e., I love reading about theory just as much as practicing the hands-on stuff.

im pretty good with circuitry, dont know any "beginner" books though
i would probably suggest looking for information online before purchasing anything

The strength of digital technology in any context is fast, easy duplication with no loss of fidelity. In many media, this serves mainly to streamline distribution.
