New Harddrive installed, but wireless trouble

I installed a new hard drive into my Inspiron 1300, reinstalled all the programs in the cds that came with the computer. Computer works fine except I can't connect to the internet. Sometimes am getting a signal and sometimes I cant get a signal at all. And when I receive a signal I can't connect to the internet. A icon of a computer with a yellow dot show on the lower right.

Inspiron 1300/Windows XP Service Pack 3

Any suggestions?

This is probably a useless answer, but if you have another computer, try looking for an up-to-date driver for your adapter. I usually find that even if Windows says the driver is up-to-date, there is usually a more recent one on the manufacturer's website.
