Paypal has me on EDGE!!!

Okay last SATURDAY my account got set to "limited access" (supposedly because of the debit card application.) When signing up it NEVER stated they need proof of ID or address. So I go to my account after i applied, thats when it was limited. I was like wtf..

So i called, and went on my account and uploaded my ID and proof of address, talked to customer service and they said thats all the need (told me 24-48 hours). I waited two days call back again, and they said the need my SSN!!, well i didnt want to, but i provided it. The told me it could be another 3-5 days!.

Well i just got an email saying

"Hello Corey xxxxxxx,

Since you are unable to complete the appeals process, access to your PayPal
account will remain limited. Your PayPal Debit Card application has been
denied as we were not able to confirm your identity using the information
you provided.

What the hell, and their CS hours are closed. I have provided the following, while on the phone to make sure its what they need.

Drivers license, cell phone bill, bank statement, and my SSN!! WTF

So here i am bringing in about $10-20 a day into my paypal account from ebay, with about $100 sitting there i CANT TOUCH!

better yet, the people you talk to on the phone cant help you any. You cant even speak to the people who "confirm" your account, identity. As big of a company as paypal is, this is ridiculous. Half the people i spoke to on the phone had a horrible "oh well" attitude.

I'm pissed. Its MY account, and MY MONEY! Now what if i had a $200 bid on an item that ended last Saturday that i couldn't pay for?

i have been through this stuff before m8

paypal customer service is a joke, if it wasnt for ebay i would never have used them again-they kept freezing my account until i recieved positive feedback from buyers to release my money "MY MONEY"

so some people were not leaving me feedback and i was having to wait nearly a month for paypal to release my money, they said it was a security precuation as i was a new user-still was happening after 20 transactions on ebay

i had £300 i couldnt touch for 2 weeks while i waited on my feedback from lazy buyers

paypal is a necessary evil for me...

exactly!

this is a joke, to confirm your ssn they go through a credit company. I'm 19, I have no credit to even have a profile! wtf, they will not help me. only thing the idiots tell me is that it will remain limited until I get a credit profile. I'm pissed. oh and it can be 180 days before I get my money because of this bs. I NEED my money and account.

im not familiar with it but my wife is. she has sold over 5000 items on ebay. Just for the record. she thinks you gave just a little to much information. thats your history and might be catastrophic later. Suggest you call ebay or the people for the paypay account. said they are not going to ask that much information. And i insisted years ago when she was interested she 'WILL NOT TIE HER PAYPAL ACCOUNT TO OUR PERSONAL ACCOUNT'. it will be separate.

Better follow up with this one pal. Even i would suspect some issues either now or later. you might not like it. Honestly i would suspect a dishonest person setting you up for a play.

good luck with this one.......

Exactly, thats what I'm really pissed about. but i would never regain access to my money without it. And evidently, providing it didn't help either. I've got $100 in there that i need right now, that i can't touch. Right now my ebay account is linked with my parents paypal.

Got on the phone with about the 20th different person that finally has attempted to help me. He ran my SSN through a different database and he said it check out and matched fine. So he put a note on my account and sent it back to the people that verify it. I hope this works. He said if they accecpt that, it should be restored by thursday..

I'd be pissed if, after all that, I still had to wait until thursday...

You have no idea how pissed i am about this

Its almost to the point its hilarious. This is something i shouldnt even have to be dealing with. I told them they dont have a problem keeping me from touching my money. But they will accept payments from people all day because they get to take that % of my transactions. So they get paid anyway

I must be lucky... I signed up, got my email verified and linked my debit card. No problem moving money enough except that it takes like three days from one to the other.

I had a problem once when someone managed to get in and buy themselves a server with a $60 monthly rental fee. Thankfully I caught it the day they broke in, paypal put a stop to it and got my money back.

Finally, my account is mine again. After almost two weeks of nothing but a bunch of lazy idiots on the phone. It took getting probably one of the few male figures in the place on the phone to help me out.

Oh no. Wells Fargo tried to pull some crap like this on me on my checking account after I made a few 'suspicious' (A video game from Best Buy and a few books from Barnes & Noble) purchases and I whipped the crap out of the poor supervisor that got involved. Verbally. I never had to send in crap, largely because my "Are you going to pay me for the time involved for me to do this?" attitude. One thing about customer service, coming from a 'call center' guy, they don't know their legal rights or yours, and if you start getting hot with the laywer/sue talk, they seem to get their shit straight really quick. Of course, it might have just been that I was a very scary sounding guy. I dunno.

Glad you got your $$ back!
