Biostar motherboards are not known for their quality anyway. In my opinion I would pick another manufacturer to buy a mainboard from.

It probably because AMD ATHLON 64 X2 6400+ with 125W??
What is your budget?
It would be best to get Athlon II/ Phenom II

The is precisely why. His motherboard can only handle up to a 95w cpu.

I would get an Athlon II 250 anyway. Nearly half the wattage of the 6400+, your board supports it (update the bios before install), it's stronger than the 6400+ anyway, it's relatively cheap, and it's AM3 so in the future you can buy an AM3 motherboard with DDR3 ram while retaining your CPU.

Yes it will.

AMD Athlon™ 64 X2 Dual-Core Processor Is listed in the CPU support.

AMD ATHLON 64 X2 6400+ should work according to this.

It's not listed on the cpu support page. That specific processor is 125 watts and most likely it won't work. There are no 125 watt cpu's on that cpu support page.
