Hey,Need assistance!

Didnt really know where to post this one as i dont know exactly whats causing the problem. :/

Basicly ive just replaced the mobo in my system to a Asus p5n32-Sli Premium.

Switched on the system, went into the BIOS and selected CD Rom as first bootable device and my SSD as second,So i can install windows fresh.

All seems to be going well in windows setup until i get to the part where it says...Expanding System Files and around 60% into doing that i get a BSOD.

Stop:0X00000024

Ive not a clue what its telling me :p,sorry for the bad image quality but does anyone know from the BSOD what the problem is?

"This stop error means that your ntfs file system is corrupt (damage in the file system, bad hard drive data, corrupt SCSI or IDE drivers or a corrupt ntfs.sys file."

You should follow the advice in the BSOD and run chkdsk on the drive.

Hi thanks for your reply,But ive formted the SSD,Its not like im trying to boot windows with the drivers from my old motherboard.

I cant see there been any problems with the SSD,Its only done this since the mobo change.

Ive checked the BIOS,Its the latest version...ive checked the memory settings,,It all looks okay at 800mhz...everything stock.

Now its not even getting to the windows setup, all it does is get to the screen in the install before you choose your language/location and sits there :(

have you tried using a different hdd to at least see if it is the ssd?

I have not no,but i cant see it been the SSD...it was fine before i unplugged it for the mobo switch.
il try it with a standard Sata 2 hdd.

What do you have the BIOS set for with hard drive settings? I.E. RAID or AHCI or ATA/IDE Mode [Native or Legacy]

AHCI :)

Yeah thats what i dont understand, ive gone through the BIOS about 20 times today trying diffrent settings with no luck whatsoever.

Like i said,Now its not even getting to the windows setup, all it does is get to the screen in the install before you choose your language/location and sits there

Ive also changed my DVD drive to see if that was playin up,tried diffrent Sata cables/Diffrent Sata ports on the Mobo.

What a frustrating day :p

did you try clearing the cmos? it could be that something happened to the ssd that causes it to not work correctly.

Right im somewhat having some luck,What ive done so far is....removed the Q6600,

Put in my old E6300 Core 2 Duo,and instead of Sata DVD-RW + SSD drive ive used an old IDE DVD-RW + Hard Drive.

Windows 7 X64 installed perfect,No problems...No BSOD....im using it right now.

So now i know that there cant be anything wrong with the board,But why is it when i put in my Quad and use Sata based drives it wont install right and i get BSOD?

The Sata drives work fine in my setup in sig...what ya reckon guys?

I would first try replacing either the ssd or the cpu, but only one, and see which gives you a bsod. Then, if one gives you a bsod you'll know what the problem likely is. You could also try installing ubuntu on there and see if that gives you any problems.

Right heres what ive tried so far, trying to narrow it down to the problem cause :p

E6300 -2GB Ram -8800GT -IDE Hard Drive + DVD Drive (Boots and works fine)

E6300 -4GB Ram -8800GT -IDE Hard Drive + DVD Drive (Boots and works fine)

E6300 -4GB Ram -GTX 460 -IDE Hard Drive + DVD Drive(Boots and works fine)

Q6600 -4GB Ram -GTX 460 -IDE Hard Drive + DVD Drive(Boots and works fine)

Then i change the IDE Hard drive for my SSD Drive,Try and install windows and it does not move from the screen after you choose your language/location,It just hangs theres.

Q6600 -4GB Ram -GTX 460 -SSD - IDE DVD Drive.

Now im wondering if theres some sort of Sata Issue with the mobo,It must be something Sata related because it works flawless when use IDE Drives.

Just really want to get this board to work, because it looks a great board but if i cant its no good to me :/

How long does it sit there? I have had times in the past where it sat there literally for about 5-10 minutes and then finally moved on. I would maybe try getting to there, selecting the language, and when it sits there, go get some lunch, and check it again.

That and I would definitely try installing ubuntu as well. I really am not sure how you would go about checking errors with the sata connections so I can't really give any advice for that :p
