I know you said your budget was ~800 and these two are a little more, but out of the ones you listed about, these two are the best. The OptiPlex has a better processor, but the Pavilion has a better graphics card, so you could go either way.

Of course, if you're feeling a little adventurous, building your own computer is always better in the long run. It's cheaper, and you know exactly what's going into it. Plus, instead of having to buy a whole new computer down the road, you can just replace pieces individually.

I would look into building the computer yourself if possible. You can get a better system for about the same costs or maybe a little less.

Well? I was just about to place my newegg order for the rig that Jevery spec'd out on a $1500 budget, but would like to see a $800 to $900 rig for a desktop using either Intel or amd. I might order two rigs, one for heavy video and photo use use and one less expensive using the types of software above, also video and photo editing every now and then, like my other rig designed by the Jevery...

If you're looking for two machines, one high power and one low power, you could get something even less powerful than the machines listed above for your less powerful machine. I'd recommend building the lower powered machine yourself, as you could save a lot of money picking the parts yourself

Ill build from this later on
I need a new computer so I can pass mine on to my bro
i think I might go with the optiplex
that one looks good and what im concerned about is the speed really
don't really care for a graphics since I don't play computer games
what do you guys think about the hp pavillion with an 8GB RAM amd athlon quad core processor and 1TB hard drive?
I found one at best buy for only 700$
would that do the job?
later on ill add a new processor but thats it maybe?

If you're looking for processing power above GPU performance, then I'd suggest the OptiPlex
