The 5770 seems to have better reviews than the Asus 460?. Also how long will this computer last? thanks

A good 3-4 years easy,as is.you still got alot of upgrading that can be done to that build that would double its speed.a year or so down the line you can always get another 4gb of ram(total 8gb),CF(two 5770) and last get an x6 CPU(might need BIOS up date).and the good thing is when you need this stuff it will be alot cheaper than it is now.with the upgrades mention it should add another 2 years, easy.totally 6 years, before major over-haul.

edit:and yes i agree with everyone else, get the 460,more bang for you buck.

The actual benchmarks on the 460 are quite a bit higher, seems as though you get more performance bang for about the same buck. ;)

I see, I will consider the 460 now. I was originally leaning more towards the 5770 because it had good rating and I read somewhere that radeon is better with amd.

amd makes ati cards.you will not see ati no more, its amd now.the last card to display the ati sign was the 5970.back to CF/SLI'ing. you can CF two amd cards on an amd broad, but not sure if you can sli two nvidia cards on an amd board.

To answer your CPU question, im pretty sure you can get away with a regular 955, from what I have read the black edition is more for those who want to overclock their CPU's and in that case the black edition has been shown to overclock to 4.0mhz stable on air(but cooler is strongly recommended)

Is SLI and Xfire more for performance gain/ enthusiast? I don't plan on doing anything major nor do I care for max setting in every game. As long as I can play old and newer games with medium to high setting, do some editing, and browsing I'm happy.

I notice that the gtx 460 is a PCI express 2.0 compare to the 2.1 Radeon? gtx 460 memory size is 768mb compared to Radeon 1gb. Only thing I see the Gtx 460 is greater in is the memory interface. How is it that the 460 is better? Sorry I im not too knowledgeable in this area
