Hey all,
I could use your help picking out a new title for me to play. Not really looking for a strategy game or any of the fallouts (already beaten) just maybe a good single player game with a good story line. I'm open to all within the above criteria.
Thanks in advance

I have a Athlon x4 630 with a GTS 450 and 4 gigs ram. Running 64 bit windows 7 if that matters....

Just watched the Dead Space 2 trailer. Wow, I have a feeling that game will scare the shit out of me but I won't be able to put it down.

Play the first one first. It's freaking awesome! My favorite space horror shooter! And I also recommend HL2 and the episodes! EXCELLENT storyline!

Alright, thanks for the suggestions everyone! Crysis looks really fun, but steam only has the 32 bit version. If I go buy it in the store will I be able to play it on a 64 bit OS?

yes you should be able to.
i'd get battlefield BC2 before Crysis if i was u, unless you can get it for real cheap. it's overated because the unoptimized code makes your gpu crawl for a little eye candy. and the story doesn't feel very well put together. just mho.

Crysis works fine on win7 64 bit. With Crysis 2 coming out in a few months, Crysis and Crysis Warhead are dirt cheap. They're both really good games, however the original Crysis is the better for story. They're a bit short, I remember thinking to myself when watching the final cutscene for the first time "HELL YEAH! THIS GAME IS AWESOME", only to then watch the credits roll and realise there was nothing more. :(
Definitely buy it. Will only set you back $10-$20 depending where you buy it from.
GTA IV is a good game if you haven't already played it, as well as the EFLC. GTA IV is just one of those iconic classic games. Can get it with the EFLC for around about $30-$40 (give or take a bit, depending where you buy from). About 20 hours gameplay + 5-10 hours each for TLAD & TBOGT.

+ a bjillion, though get HL1 as well, it is showing its age but still an astoundingly good game

+1!!!

I've played through the original Half-Life probably 20 times. I would strongly recommend it! One of the most legendary PC/FPS games of all time

I would have to recommend Mass effect if you're into RPGs or Sci-Fi stuff. I got it recently and LOVE it.

Also for a FPS I would definitely recommend Team Fortress 2. My favorite game. Ever.

If you're into 2D platformers Super Meat Boy is insanely addicting and challenging.

And if adventure games are your thing then just go to telltale's website. That's pretty much all they do.

If you have not already played them, get Mass effect and Mass effect 2. If you want a long single player RPG with a great storyline which follows on, these are the games for you. I know they are basically giving Mass effect away and Mass effect 2 is real cheap, also Mass effect 3 is out at the end of the year and that follows on too. Multiplayer FPS, i would go for BBC2 and multiplayer strategy i would go for starcraft 2. Bioshock and Bioshock 2 are real fun single player games with good storylines.
