Hey guys and gals. New here and I'm wanting to purchase a new computer.the thing is, I've not thought about components in a long time so I'm out of date in the new stuff.I'm not really wanting to build my own. Bury I'm also not site on good legit sites to but pre built from. The computer is for heavy gaming. nothing else.I have been looking at (don't hurt me!) Walmart. Seems they have a deal with cyberpower.and this http://www.walmart.com/ip/CyberPower-GLU101/14089717 pc doesn't look bad. Is it a good buy? If not point me in the right direction. Looking to keep it under $700 - $750 . Thanks for any help you can give me! (please excuse weird words and typos, doing this from my phone and it predicts words strange and is a pain to fix if I don't catch it when I do it.)

Not gonna happen with that HD 5450. And I'm sure you'll find that the ps won't handle a gpu upgrade you'll want for your gaming, unless you could order it with a better gpu, at which point they may put a diff ps in there, but it would surely be low quality, like the one it has now.

What if you could get a 6850, and higher end components, with warranties at least as long and mostly longer than the cyber's 1 yr, under $750 by assembling it yourself?

you can still build a better PC cheaper.
its not hard. Look at the sticky at the top of the page. Its detailed and has pictures.

You wont get what you pay for when you buy pre-built. I guess noone will help you on this forum if you do so.
Yes the TS will get help on this forum.
It's just hard to recommend somthing that costs so much more than what it can be had for.

TS-Here's one with a 6850 and a limited 1 yr warranty. No keyboard/mouse and over budget. Perhaps you can find one with about a 5850 in your range.

Well since you are all soo adamant about me buildling one. Please put a parts list together, Preferably all on newegg. I will prob end up putting it together as it will prob be a fun project. Windows 7 OS, and tell me what size tower i need to pick out.

EDIT: Also i'm not needing a keyboard / mouse, nor a monitor. If the graphics card has an HDMI out it would be fantastic as i use my TV for a monitor.

Now you're talkin'. Yes, it will be fun :D.

This is much better quality/performance than any prebuilt linked in every way, and will play games very well.
It can also be upgraded by just adding a second 6850 down the road.
I used the whole $750...$754 after ship, but there's a $15 rebate to bring it under $750.
The motherboard below is ATX, so the case would need to be able to fit it.
Mid tower or full tower and with good cooling/cable management.

That looks great benny, I just have 2 questions.
The RAM says "Designed Specifically for Intel Sandy Bridge CPUs and P67 Platforms".
And the PSU. Was it chosen because of the 'earthfriendly' demeanor and less power consumption? because im not worried about either one of those lol. Other than that it looks like i'll be placing an order within the week.

Excellent choice of parts by Bennyboy.

If you have to get a rig right now, it has to be AMD simply because of its superior price/performance, especially when you factor in the cost of the motherboard.

Build the PC yourself, you'll be surprised at how easy it is when you get down to it and I'm sure all of us will be more than willing to guide u along if you hit any roadblocks.

Don't buy that BS about being designed specifically for Intel.

Thanks. +1 to that ^. It just means it's on the QVL list for Intel. It's a top brand and it'll work great for the set-up.
I picked the PS for it's quality and wattage. Let us know a day or 2 before you order, there might be some last minute input depending on any sales etc.

Well the window is nice but I mainly picked it for the sleek clean front.with everything it totaled to $768. Do I need anything else? thermal paste? Also. This thing will make a good team with my 42" tv / monitor.

The stock paste and the stock heatsink will work well.(even with a little overclock) If you are going to be overclocking much(and the 955 oc's real well) then you could consider a 3rd party cooler and some Artic Silver 5 thermal paste. A CM Hyper 212 is a good $25 cooler, and AS5 is $10.
