I need a new monitor

Okay...so I really just want it. I'd like it to be 32".

My reason for making a thread, is that I'm unsure the difference between getting a computer monitor or another hd tv (my current monitor is a 26" visio). I want a really good picture. So what is the better option? Or if they are close to the same which is the cheaper options?

Yeah, it'll be used as a monitor. And that is my question that I'd like to be sure of. Though, Either way those look about the same price as a tv

haha. You haven't even seen it. Either way, nothing is wrong with it. I didn't say I wasn't going to use it anymore. In fact, it'll sit right next to my new one and operate as my second pc screen

Okay a big question coming up! cause after this I'm making my purchase. I have a 26" vizio right now. it's max resolution is 1366x786ish.

I hear if you get really powerful video cards than you lose out by not being able to run them at high resolutions. SO!

I'm getting an hd 6950. Should I just get another 26" to be consistent or would you guys for a 37" that has a max of like 1980xsomething???

If you get a monitor that big and run high res like :2560 X 1600 you will probably need stout video card(s) for gaming.Just keep that in mind.I am currently on a 22" was running a 27.5 hannspree at 1920 X 1200 till it quit working(dont buy a hannspree btw, only got 2.5 years out of it and warranty service is terrible with that company) anyways video card plays better at 1680 X 1080 than 1920 X 1200.Its pretty much what you get used to.Sure big screen is nice but after awhile you adjust to smaller screen.

Moral of this story if you are gaming it takes real video horsepower to push high res.cant take the cheap way out with only one part(large high res monitor)

Well, I ordered an hd 6950, so I'm hoping that'll be enough to push a higher res. I ended up getting another 26" vizio. This one to be exact. Holy crap it is so sexy. I'm going to get another one in 2 weeks. I can't stand how it looks next to my old vizio
