For Gaming I think you should stick to the Core i5 2500k and then spend the difference on the GPU.And 4 GB of RAM will be enough.

Been a while but I am still certain that this psu is better than the one you linked.

Maybe look at this hard drive.

I agree that 4GB of RAM is enough, but depending on the motherboard, you might want to get 6GB of RAM and have them in tri-channel.
Maybe these or these, depending on the motherboard choice.

Back in form.:D
He would need dual channel memory for sandybridge.

And 4Gb ought to be enough.
But I think the 2600k will be an overkill for gaming.
the 2500k will more than enough(its the same battle like the old i7 920 and the i5 750)
The 2500k will save some money so that you can upgrade the GPU and go for something like the GTX570.

The XFX Black 750W is a nice PSU.But it is $130 and the Corsair PSU after rebate is $90.So I dont think it is worth that much of a difference I think that the corsair will suffice.

Never said I wouldn't work, just something to consider if they have any money left over since it is a better psu.

Ha ha, not quite back in form yet... Not even sure what the 2600/2500k processors are >.<

I've updated my list above with links. I'm not going to be buying these parts immediately. It will help steer me in the right direction and how to start saving.

I'm hoping this desktop will last a while that's why it has 8gb and the 2600k cpu. It will be used as a work machine along with gaming.

More adivce?

Thanks again guys!

Updated things once again. Does anyone see any concerns or something I may have overlooked? I really appreciate all the advice!

Its a better idea to go with the 2500k and use the xtra Money for a better GPU... like the others also stated.. :)
