I have Virgin medias 20mb connection, Their connection is very reliable, hardly ever goes down and if it does its quickly back up, As for their customer support,Sometimes you can get someone that’s very helpful and other times not so much.

What annoy me about Virgin media is they seem to come out with different prices when you call them, I contacted them about upgrading my package and if they would do me a deals and they come up with the crap that allot of their offers are for new customers only....That’s when i asked well what about your existing customers?...don’t they matter? I got no response. :p

Virgin does offer the phone line on its own as that’s what i have and pay £30 a month.

If VM improved their customer support and offered better deals to their existing customers they would be a much better ISP.

Virgin broadband is by far the best Internet that I have used in the UK (that is available to the public). They are the only ones to use fibre I believe. The only problem I find with them is that although they offer "unlimited downloads" they do have a "fair usage policy" that can absolutely destroy your speeds if you download too much within a certain period of time.

I too am a Virgin customer -- on the 20Mb service and have been for several years. I find it very reliable and have never known it go down. The speed is consistently high for downloading (and their upstream speed is a little faster than tradition ADSL broadband so faster uploading too)

They do actively monitor for excessive usage but will contact you if you are coming onto their radar as a potential problem ;-)

BT Infinity will eventually offer fast services similar to Virgin but not everyone can get it yet (neither can they all Virgin). If you can get Virgin fibre connection go for it
