Graphics Driver Issue

Hey all, I have been having this issue with my Geforce go7700 graphics chipset on my Asus G1 laptop. The laptop is about 4 to 5 years old. I attempt to play games such as Civ: 4 Beyond the Sword, Counter Strike: Source, and recently Team Fortress 2 (since it's free!).

My issue is after 15 or 20 minutes of playing the game, steam games mainly, I notice graphical artifacts on the screen. I quickly exit the game via ctrl alt del. and everything seems fine. This leads me to think its a graphics driver issue?

My question would be where to look for drivers for my chipset. I have tried the nvidia site, and presently use the driver they have for my card. However, this seems to not work. Does anyone know where else to possibly look for a fix? Or, maybe I'm completely wrong in my diagnosis?

Thanks for your help on this.

Temps range from:

Fresh start: 32-35 C

Regular use: 36-58 C

Game: 59-86 C

86 is the highest its ever gotten. I have an Antec laptop cooler underneath on full power as well.

Does anyone else have any insight on this issue? I looked at the Asus website and discovered a display driver for windows vista-32 bit. Would this be okay to use with Windows 7? I went to Nvidia's sight again and the site recommended to download the manufacturer's driver as it would be best. However, Asus has no driver for Windows 7.

I picked up a modded INF file and driver from laptopvideo2go's website. It seems to be stable. I was surprised they had one for Windows 7. My first looks at the performance of the laptop since the new driver seem to be the temps are down quite a few degrees...would a driver have this effect??? My temps are now 62 C under load. I wonder what caused the cool down?
