IO INTERACTIVE UNVEILS
HITMAN ABSOLUTION

The fifth game in the multi-million selling franchise
showcasing IO’s new Glacier 2 game engine
-------------------------

COPENHAGEN (May 11, 2011) — IO Interactive A/S, part of Square Enix Europe, is pleased to confirm HITMAN ABSOLUTION™, a new game for Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system, and Windows PC.

HITMAN ABSOLUTION follows Agent 47®, a cold blooded assassin, who takes on his most dangerous contract to date. Betrayed by those he trusted and hunted by the police, he finds himself at the centre of a dark conspiracy and must embark on a personal journey through a corrupt and twisted world, in his search for the truth.

“For the first time we are taking Agent 47 on a personal journey which allows us to explore other parts of the HITMAN® fantasy,” said Tore Blystad, game director, IO Interactive. “This is both a familiar and yet significantly different experience to any of the other Hitman games, something our silent assassins will relish as well as those who are new to the Hitman world.”

Showcasing IO Interactive’s new proprietary Glacier 2TM technology, the game has been built from the ground up, boasting a cinematic story, distinctive art direction and highly original game design, HITMAN ABSOLUTION combines much loved classic gameplay with completely new gameplay features for the Hitman franchise.

Scheduled for release in 2012, HITMAN ABSOLUTION will be showcased by invitation only at the upcoming Electronic Entertainment Expo in Los Angeles, California from June 7-9.

I was surprised that no one is interested in Hitman.
They have a new game coming up which looks really cool and I am a fan of the Hitman Series.
Loved Hitman Contracts and Blood Money.
I find it is a really unique series. And Eidos is coming up with really amazing games, like Batman Arkham City is also due this year. :D

I love the hitman series and this will probably be a definite buy for me :D

I just hope it doesn't become another explosiony action shooter... Tactical Stealth games are a dying breed unfortunately :(

Yeah.I saw your thread about Hitman 5 from 2009.
Any useful links you have do post them here.
But I did not like Splinter Cell much.
Agent 47 is way cooler.
And yeah according to the video the violence and noise must be pretty high.

Did you complete Blood Money on Pro with Silent Assassin Rating in every mission?
Glacier 2. :D

Also from the second video , they are using a new engine for Hitman Absolution(Which is a cool name BTW).

Absolution will still be comprised of the same stealth-focused gameplay the series is known for as well as some entirely new features that we'll perhaps learn more about at E3.

Well lets just say someone has made a photoshopped picture of Hitman's head onto Batman with the title "hitman: absolutely retarded" :p

Indeed, from the trailer it looks like garbage to the franchise. Still to early to tell but they ruined so many games the past 5 years that I sorta given up hope that designers will stick to the concept of the franchise. I mean look at the newest Splinter Cell...sure it looked cool and was fun but it was a bastard to the SC franchise and had very little stealth options.

I will admit I loved Hitman quite a bit but I wish it was longer.

All of the hitman games except blood money had way more missions, I never finished all of them on silent assassin though. I appreciated the challenge though! Quite difficult with no save games on professional.
