So, I just built a new pc (first time). I have an ASRock P67 PRO3 motherboard and a GIGABYTE GV-R687OC-1GD Radeon HD 6870 1GB 256-bit video card.

When I press the power button, everything seems to turn on, but I see nothing on the screen. The video card has DVI and HDMI ports and I have connected the pc to a monitor via DVI. The motherboard does not have any vga outlet. What should I do?

Is this like a new build completely? Has it ever worked properly before?
Also, did you connect the 6 pin connector to the video card?
What power supply do you have?
Does the fan on the video card spin?
Have you tried a different monitor?
A different video card?

Do you have 2 pci express power connectors attached to the video card? If not, then it won't work without them.

i believe all p67's are that way, but that mobo has no onboard graphics interface to run the hd through
