Can't connect to my router's config page.

So I'm living with my wife's family right now, and every time my brother in law comes home from the weekend, he all but crashes the network with torrents. At times I can't even get the google homepage to load. I'm trying to access the router's config page to see what kind of tools it has that might aid this. The ip should be 192.168.2.1, but all I get is a "could not connect to server" error. Also tried ending it with .1.1 and .2.1, with the same result.

Router is a Belkin F5D7234-4, version 4

Am I doing something wrong?

whenever this happens to me i just reset the router with a pin or something and then you can get back to the router settings page.

Thought about that...but I'd have to do it very fast and when both the brother and dad are out. Trying to do this discreetly, so he'll just think it's isp problems when it caps his bandwidth

Other problem is, I'm using the guest password, not the actual key, so I dunno how to reset it properly so he can connect : /

Press windows button + R. Type "cmd" press enter. then type "ipconfig /all". Check what ip the gateway is. That is the ip you need to connect to the router.

It might have some security setup so you can't access the web interface when connected through wireless. So you might need to use cable.

Why not just reset the router? Sounds like its somebody elses property and you shouldnt be messing around with it in the first place.

If your connected to the network, Run 'cmd' and type ipconfig /all. You want to find the default gateway. This will give you the right IP address to use.
