wd3000 died.... need help

I had a fried hard drive and need the information off it, I am looking to replace the circuit board on it. it is a western digital wd3000JD-98KLB0. can anyone help me find a replacement. thank you

is the data what your trying to get? if not and just are wanting the drive to work...looks like the board may be a little pricey, might just suggest buying a new drive...

It seems absurd to me that the circuit board would fail on a mechanical drive. I would say you can't do anything about it.

Sometimes there is hope. What I would do just to make sure there isn't just a little bit of life left in it is to pop in a HBCD (more info here) and boot up Mini Windows XP and see if the drive is recognized.

Good luck my friend, data loss is not fun.
