:)

Well the company that makes Acrobat Reader is Adobe. There is Acrobat Reader and Adobe Acrobat Professional as far as I know. One is the normal free version that allows you to read the PDF files. On the other hand if you wish to create and edit these files, you will need the professional, paid-for version.

Here :)

Here you see that there are two versions that support the creation of PDF documents. These are Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Professional/Standard. The Adobe Acrobat Reader only allows you to view files in the PDF format. I hope that this fully answers your questions. BTW you need to pay for the Standard/Professional versions :))).

I used to have Acrobat Reader 5.0. I have tried several times to upgrade to 7.0 without success. It always says that a file is missing. This last time I deleted 5.0 on the theory that might have caused the problem. Now I can't install the download of 7.0 and I can't return to 5.0. Do I need to edit the Registry in order to, say, remove all references to Abobe or Acrobat? Any suggestions?

I have a wierd problem with Acrobat reader on my desktop. When I download the new ver 7 or previous ver's I get a file with a .aob extension vs the .exe. I can't launch it. When I download the same file on my XP laptop, no problem at all. My desktop is W2K Prof, SP4, all MS updates bwith latest Java. Any ideas? I even tried sneaker netting the good file on my laptop over to the desktop and I get an error msg. I'm not in front of the desktop, so I forget what the error is...
