When should I buy another Radeon 6870?

I'm looking to crossfire my rig soon, and I was wondering if there's an optimal time to buy a duplicate of my graphics card. Is ATI coming out with a better model that might reduce the 6870's price? Or is Black November a good time? Any advice appreciated!

gpu: HD 6870

It's the same card I have. It's always at a pretty good price on the Egg, so anytime should be good; but if you want to wait, I'd wait for Black Friday/Cyber Monday. You might see a good deal pop up.

Fill out your signature so we know what the rest of your rig is!

Do you have a board that can atleast do 8x/8x or 16x16x Xfire? If you have a 16x/4x board I would save your money. Also, do you have a good enough power supply to run Xfire 6870's?

power suply specs are a must, you can damage componants if supply is substandard..
i stretched mine with 2x 4890's with a large overclock had to drop them back to stock just to run properly...

OK, yes I agree you have a well built rig.

My personal opinion is to have 1 stronger PSU rather than multiple GPU's, but thats up to you. Personally I would upgrade to something like a gtx570 or a 6970. But Xfire 6870's do extremely well usually.
