Can you give us specific parts you used? Like what power supply, motherboard, cpu, etc..

Got the standoffs under the board in the right places? Got the 4/8 pin CPU power connector plugged in?.

I am guessing you havent put the CPU cooler on properly. Does it give you anything on the screen, or any beeps?

Make sure you have the CPU power cable in the 4 x 4 socket and I would also ensure you have the cpu cooler firmly secured.

Remove the CMOS battery and unplug your computer, press the power button for 10 secs and wait a minute.
Replace the battery
Try booting with only 1 stick of ram.

So your CPU cooler wasn't installed correctly?

Ensure you have the correct settings in the bios for monitoring the right motherboard headers. If you are monitoring the system fan header, and have plugged the system fan into a chasis fan header or something the bios cannot detect it, even if it is running

Double check everything.

Most common problem for no POST is the ram. Bigfella you actually got one right, even though you didn't pursue it.
Try booting with 1 stick of ram. If it doesn't, change the stick to a different one and then if that doesn't work change the slot. Sometimes a slot is dead, sometimes a stick is dead.

try to plug in an extra fan to the motherboard. look at where the cpu fan is pluged in. there should be at least 1 or more inputs that look similar on the motherboard, and try putting a fan on those headers. some pre-manufacture boards are picky when it comes to having fans pluged in (mainly dells). let us know if this helps.

You will get the error if you aren't running the cpu fan off of the cpu fan header. Are you using the correct fan header or no?
