well, just was wondering.......the largest Ext-HDD i have seen is 16TB. in 2 years from now, what size do you think the largest Ext-HDD will be?

i sure wont even need any past 3TB, lol, but i was just thinking how much further technology will go in a couple years from now and what will be available..... what do you think?

Who knows what data requirements you may have in the future? I remember when 640K of RAM was considered the most you would ever need and a 20M hdd was considered cavernous!

Data storage requirements generally expand based on the available space.

It's hard to predict how "the cloud" will ultimately affect how much local storage we'll need in the future. Maybe if bandwidth technology improves immensely all our data could be stored in the cloud and we would have instant access to it. That could greatly diminish the need for local storage.
