So normally I put movies on a flash drive, and watch them through my 360, but my 360 red ringed, so now I have no way to watch movies on my tv. Anyone no an easy alternative?

I hooked my old rig up via hdmi a few weeks ago, but I had no sound, and the resolution no matter what i set it at wouldn't fit the tv, it was always off the screen in certain spots.

What gpu do you have? I set mine up to duplicate the monitor and it fits just fine. Getting sound was a bit trickier to figure out with my gtx 465 but I just had to set the default playback device to the tv.

Well I'd be using my old rig on my tv cause I'm not hooking my normal one up to it. That old rig has a GTX 295.

Have you tried the towel trick on your 360? It worked on 2 of mine. Otherwise your going to have to get a sling box which costs about $100 or something similar.

I use a similar set up, (it works on mine.) Bottom line is the audio can only be put to one device at a time in windows 7 (using x64 ult myself.) I have to go into sound properties and select the SPDIF MB as output and sacrifice my rear panel SPDIF output. The hdmi carries sound/HD to my home theatre for some gaming/windows media center etc.
When I get back to regular computing I have to switch the sound output back to my local digital speakers using the sound properties window.

Not to worried about my 360. My friend has his laptop hooked up to his tv with an hdmi cable and he has sound, and everything works perfect, not sure why my desktop isn't being as cooperative.

My monitor is 1366x766, I duplicate it and it looks fine on my 37", just bigger. I get some problems if I extend the display though.

The monitor I had it on was a 25inch 1920x1080, then when I put it on my tv it was all messed up, I tried every resolution setting there was, nothing helped.

It just "works" on my 560, so not much else I can think of to help with this. Is it messed up when an application is fullscreen with extended display?

Got distracted and forgot my other question, sorry.

I fixed the screen issue, i just resized it all, but still no luck with audio, under playback devices my tv isn't even showing up as an option. Clueless right now.

Alrighty well I decided to just hook my tv up to my new rig, and I'll just drag movies over to that from my main monitor, thanks for the help guys.

Do you have Nvidia high definition audio enabled?

Not positive, but I must of, i dicked with it for hours, someone online here just told me the 295 doesn't send audio, and that I needed another cord, but I'll just leave my new rigged hooked up, its less work lol.
