Linksys wrt610N + home sharing.

Hello all,

I'm not sure if this has anything to do with my router, however when i'm trying to stream videos through i tunes home sharing. After about 10 minutes of playback, i start to get terrible buffering issues. it plays for 30 sec, then pause 30 sec, and repeat. does anyone know if this is a network hardware problem? or itunes crappy software problems lol

It's probably a heat related issue. Since Linksys went to the internal antenna design, I've seen nothing, but flaky routers. They have poor ventilation and my luck with them hasn't been very good (dropped connections, needing reboots periodically). Is it possible to hardwire the connections and see if the problem persists?

well i also have a dlink dgs 1024d splitter also and from the touch it doesn't seem that hot. and my regular browsing/gaming connections arn't affected. I assume if it was a heat issue then i wouldn't have any kind of connection. I think there are some ports that need to be open for home sharing, but i'm not sure which ones.

I think this would be a port forwarding issue. Let us know if you have already looked into that or not.

I have this same router, and I don't believe this has anything to do with heat.
