Contact List from a new built

I have Windows Live Mail: I have a contact list in a folder and when I double click on one it will ask if I want it in my contact list and I say yes but when I go to send an email and click on To: there isn’t any email address there so what can I do about this?

Import the whole contact list into Windows Live Mail.
