Service Control Manager Crash

my computer is crashing frequently and from the event viewer under system i get a service error 7000.

does anyone know what could be causing this and how to solve it?

Are you runnning Windows XP? Did you recently uninstall Service Pack 3? If so the indications are that this is a logon failure.

Google the event for more information.

yes, i'm on windows xp pro. sp3 is installed with all updates. could it be that i have an application thats causing the control manager to crash?

As mentioned above, put the event viewer info into Google and start reading. You are bound to get some clues as to what is happening. Detective work.
