Mac Mini?

I am currently in programming school and I want to learn how to program for iphone apps and such. I had a buddy tell me that I would need to purchase a mac of some kind so I can get familiar with the product and programming of mac.

I have never owned a Apple product other than an Iphone/Ipod.

He has called me and said he found a mac mini for $200.00. No keyboard, or monitor.. just the mini.

It was purchased 8 months ago new from apple by a mutual friend.

Is $200.00 a safe price for it?

$200 for an 8 month old Mac Mini? Yeah those things start at like 500 or 600. You will need to learn Objective C and Xcode and it is totally worth the $99 a year for the iOS developer program.

Good luck

I'd suggest getting the specs from him. Just because he purchased it new 8 months ago doesn't mean it's 8 months old, it could be a 2010 model or something they still had and he bought on sale, so knowing the specs might be a good start, but all apple comps tend to be pretty good and for 200 it should be money well spent.

Yeah I meant if it was 8 months old and still under the 1 year warranty that is a killer deal. Find out what model it is. Each Mac has a unique model number then look it up on Apple's website.
