you should be able to sli them as long as they are both the same memory bandwidth..which i think all 550's are 192bit. im not too sure if the amount of memmory makes a difference, but i do know that if one card is clocked higher than the other, the faster one will down clock to the slower one.

They will down clock and lock ram off until they are the same specs. You will be perfectly fine SLI'ing as long as it is another ti not a plain 550.

why? whats the difference in the 550 and the 550ti?....im pretty sure they only make the 550ti....ive never seen just a plain 550. but to the OP, your in the green...you should have no problems

the card with the 2 gigs, will just deactivate half of it to match the card with 1 gig, so each card will run with the same clocks, same bandwidth of 192bits, and 1 gig of memmory

No, you can SLI cards with differant memory ammounts im pretty sure, its only the GPU that matters

Strait from the link that Claptonman posted

Can I mix and match graphics cards with different sizes of memory?

When purchasing a second graphics card, you should try to match the memory size so that you are ensured full value and performance from your purchase. However, while it is not recommended, NVIDIA does offer the flexibility to run graphics cards with different sized memory by using CoolBits. Using CoolBits (value set to 18), you can force both of the cards to use the lower of the two memory sizes and operate them together in SLI mode. When dissimilar memory sizes are enabled to work together using CoolBits, the effective memory size for each card becomes the smaller of the memory sizes.
