SSD with my setup..

Current setup is in sig below. I have never used a SSD but looks like I am going to pick one up. When I built this cpu, I only purchased the 500 watt power supply, but I wish I would have got one a bit larger.

Does a SSD pull much power and do I need to worry about it on my current power supply?

No if your psu has powered your system with no problems so far it should be fine, it won`t put much extra strain on your system, i could be wrong but i think a ssd uses less power than an ordinary hdd.

Without knowing the exact model number of power supply you have, it would be hard to judge. If you can get the model number we can look up specs for it. I mean adding an ssd drive won't add hardly anything to the system for power requirements but you are running a gtx 570 so just want to make sure you have enough amps on the 12 volt rail to run everything.

Pretty sure a 570 can do close to 220A. 17A+17A or 17A+16A that at least a couple of Seasonic 500w has is weak imo.

A 570 does not pull 220A. I also doubt that the seasonic has multiple rails, no PSU really does until you get up to the 1000W and over range.

The TDP for the GTX 570 is 219W, which is 18.25A.

Any SSD will take 5W at most.
