You should come over to the tread I made called My Dream Build. The guys and gals here are giving me some good ideas and help me in finding cheaper prices.

2000 I series are sandy bridge and the unreleased ivied are 3000 series.

In SNB "K" series are with HD 3000 and non "K" are HD 2000, In IVB "K" series are with HD 4000 and non " K are with HD 2500 except i7 3770.

are those sandy bridge prices or IVB?
if IVB is going to be that much more powerful then would i be better off waiting until they come out?
IVB will be priced almost same as SNB, as I said there is big boost in its inbuilt GPU power, but not much increase in CPU power, so I would tell you go ahead with a 2500k and a good Graphic card. In gaming you won't find much of difference between 2500k and 3570k.

For the price of 2 550tis, it would be way better to go for a single 560ti.

ok thanks alot! so much good information. looks likes itll be SNB i5 unless i can find a cheap i7 and ill have to look more into graphics but i think the 560ti is the way to go for me.

what are the general deciding factors about the performance of video cards? i figured since they were close enough in model that the 2 550ti's would be harnessing more graphic processing power... trollololo

It may be a little more powerful with two, but you get more heat and drivers issues. It'd be better to get one 560ti so then you could get a 2nd 560ti in the future.

Actually some cheaper desktop i3 has HD3000 like i3 2105 & i3 2125
http://ark.intel.com/products/59080/Intel-Core-i3-2125-Processor-(3M-Cache-3_30-GHz)

i3 2105/2125 are same as i3 2100/2120 but the only difference is that the ones with "5" at the end has better graphics.
