PSU to Motherboard connection issue.

I'm using this PSU:

http://www.scan.co.uk/products/500w...pj3-it-70-eff-uncertified-eps-12v-fan-atx-v23

and this motherboard:

http://www.scan.co.uk/products/giga...-ii-3gb-s-pcie-30-(x16)-d-sub-dvi-d-micro-atx

Basically the power supply cables from the motherboard don't fit :/

The big, ATX connection from the PSU has 4 pins 'missing' and the smaller ATX_12V simply doesn't line up with the one on the motherboard.

I've heard that this can happen and I'm wondering if anyone could link a company that supplies the necessary cables to make this work? Would be really great :)

Thanks!

That psu has a 20/24 pin connection. Make sure the 4pin cable is going the correct way.

Are you attaching the 4pin to the 20 pin before inserting it? Sometimes the 4 pin won't insert without being attached first.

You need to attach the 4-pin to the other 20-pin connector. There are little nubs on the 4-pin that pit under the rest of the 20-pin. Then it should fit into the motherboard.

Ah of course! I feel so stupid now lol :p

I realise now why it confused me because the ATX_12V connector from the PSU was had 2 X 4 pin connectors and I thought they were for the graphics card. Maybe they are, but the graphics card Im using has 2 X 6pin connectors so some molar converters should do the job nicely.

Cheers everyone, awesome help as always xD

The 2x4 pin you are referring to are the CPU power connectors. Some boards only have 1 CPU power plug, while higher CPU'S and motherboards require 2.
