1. The idea behind how it happens makes perfect sense
*snip*
2. Next year, watch E3:
*snip*
It is multiplayer, or at least co-op
3. PC, Xbox, PS3, possibly Wii U (Not confirmed the latter)
4. Halo 4 looked like Halo 3, not really awesome, it is like saying the BLOPs 2 looked awesome, it doesn't, it looks like BLOPs 1 but in a few years time
1. I understand there is a bit of confusion in this. First, I meant to say 'hacking' in gameplay appears weak, not that the story's use of hacking couldn't happen. That is, the story they've given for /why/ you can hack, yes, makes sense. But as a gameplay feature it seems like a weak idea. I elaborate more on this below.
2. Multiplayer/co-op and having a second player interact with your game, are two different things. See
here,
Basically, Jonathan, our creative director was playing agent Pearce at the conference, and I was playing another character, who hacked into him, who had his own objective and we crossed paths. It was basically two players who crossed paths with their own objectives.
Or in simpler terms, multiplayer/co-op implies that two parties are working together to accomplish a common goal, or working against each other to prevent the other from accomplishing a goal. Now interaction is having two characters with two different objectives bumping into one another, potentially affecting one another, but not necessarily helping or preventing one another from accomplishing their respective goals. This is a concept I am not sure any other game has tried before, and as a rumor, it excites me.
3. Thank you.
4. Yes true, I wholeheartedly agree. Halo 4's new development team certainly has been rehashing. The new bad guys, new weapons, and overall new story arc does remind me of Halo 3. But it still looks like the most fun to me!
Well, it is original. I don't know any other game that uses Hacking as a main thing to do what you have to do. The openworld feature makes it more awesome and frankly more enjoyable if you are a sick person and like to kill random people in any way possible lol.
It is somewhat original. Several games have 'hacking' in them,
Deus Ex
Bioshock
Mass Effect
But I don't know if 'hacking' is strong enough to stand on its own as a main focus. I would LOVE for the game to prove me wrong, and be extremely fun. Because other games with 'hacking' as the main focus thus far have sucked,
Uplink
Hacker series
I think it really has to do with how in depth the hacking becomes. Or maybe how a big studio will do it differently. Will it all be like the gameplay video? With a few clicks and you're done. Or will it be more in depth where you have to solve puzzles/riddles to hack. Will it be slow or fast? Does it upgrade as the game progresses or as you the player does? What parts of this massive world can you hack or not hack? All in all I guess we will have to wait and see.
