Not getting prompt to log into network

Just got to school to find out that the LAN connection is no longer plug and use, we now have to log into it everyone we use it like we do the wifi. I started using the LAN last year because my laptop web browsers never gave me the prompt to log into the Internet (you go to any website and it prompts you to log in on the web browser, however I ALWAYS time out). Tech support on campus is closed tomorrow and I need my Internet running by tomorrow for classes on Monday. Could this be a firewall issue? I am the only person here that is having this problem and nobody can fix it. What can I do the get te prompt page up?

start by resetting your browser (i'd suggest trying IE first) to it's default settings.

If that doesn't work check if you do get an ip on your network card.
