I have an evolution copy of win server 2008 do you think i should install it on a P4 Desktop with 1gig of memory and 150gig hard drive space. or do a dual boot onto a win 7 laptop with 3gigs of memory and 4gig hard drive space?. I just want to get the feel of using wind server 2008

It will run on the p4 with 1 gig of ram, It is a cross between Vista and Windows 7 and it run quite good.. you can even turn it into a desktop workstation.... I have use it before as my main desktop OS, with a couple of tweaks you can make it look just like Vista, but it runs better..

I forget to include the fact that i have a 1.93ghz CPU do you think that will be enough power.

Hello @evolution

Yes it is compatible with this CPU but i thing you have to little troubleshoot on Windows 2K8 drivers.

That is not true. Windows vista shares it's kernel with windows server 2008. Windows 7 has the same kernel as windows server 2008 r2.

If you want to test something i'd use windows server 2008 r2. Most companies never even deployed windows server 2008 and skipped to the r2 version.

The r2 version will probably also run better on your hardware. 1gig is the minimum though.
