Good gaming setup?

yep. All you will need is a few zip ties (get them at any hardware store, auto zone, or walmart) and a screw driver (4 corner, not slotted).

you don't need it (well you do, but you already have it). Thermal paste, to make it simple, is a freeway. A direct route for the heat between the processor and the heatsink. The Processor you were linked (the i3-2100 I think) comes with a stock intel heatsink that already has thermal paste applied. All you have to do is pull the plastic cover off the bottom and put the heatsink on the motherboard, pushing the pins down in a X pattern.

define perform better. Overclocking, yes it will cool better. But there is no need to overclock a graphics card. It only nets about 4 or 5 frames at most from my experiences.

Reference designs are also compatible with h2o cooling and aftermarket heatsinks, so keep that in mind.

Depends on the OC. But a stock OC like on a twin frozr, yes, and mac you will ever get is 10 FPS boost with a great cooler. H2O cooling could let you oc enough for a 20+ FPS boost, if you ever go that way. Get a good reference card. Their are some reference cards with better the Stock cooling.

250MHz OC on a GTX 480 gives 4 FPS. I doubt very seriously that anyone will get more than that unless they are getting a 500+ MHz boost. And this is all off topic. Reference cards are good. There is no need for other coolers.

You might want to spit out your location as well. If you have a MicroCenter around you, they have the cheapest Mobo/processors/cases out there.
