Installing 2nd identical sata harddrive

Currrently, my harddrive has windows xp installed. I purchased an identical sata harddrive to install windows 7 on.

I need to make sure I'm correct on this before proceeding. After installing the 2nd harddrive and starting the windows 7 installation, will I be able to determine which harddrive is the new one, since they are identical Seagate Baracute sata harddrives?

Thanks,

Adam

Honestly, unless you really want to mess with bootloaders, what I'd do is disconnect the current drive and leave only the new one installed. Load Windows, then plug them both up. At this point, you can set one as the primary in the BIOS then either swap them there OR use the boot menu (usually F12, sometimes F8, F11, ESC...) and select the other drive from the list.

Yes you will because the second hard drive will show up as "Unpartitioned Space" and will have the hard drive capacity free.
