Building a gaming computer

Hello, I am looking to purchase a new Gaming PC or make one myself which would support eyefinity and I could also run MMO and the latest games on it. Note I am willing to spend up to £700 for a pc, at most I could extend my budget to £1000.
Here are the specs someone mentioned to me

Intel Core I5 3570k
AMD 7950
Asrock pro4-M
Thermaltake Smart 430W
1TB HDD
2x4GB RAM Crucial

Should I make any changes to this?

Or should I go with:

i7 3770k
Gtx 680
Asus Sabertooth Z77
8GB Corsair Vengeance 1600 mHz
Ocz modxstream 700W PSU
Samsung 128GB Pro SSD
HAF 922
Coolermaster Hyper 212 Evo CPU

Thanks

Who the hell recommended you got a 7950 and then run it on a 430W power supply?

If it were me, I'd look at the following if you're willing to go to £1000:

i5 3570K http://www.novatech.co.uk/products/...ncorei3,i5andi71155socket/bx80637i53570k.html
8GB RipJaws-X 2133MHz (only £50, so it doesn't seem worth buying 1600 or 1866MHz) http://www.novatech.co.uk/products/...c3-14900/1866mhzplus/f3-17000cl11d-8gbxl.html
Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UD4H http://www.novatech.co.uk/products/...155z77chipset/atxformfactor/ga-z77x-ud4h.html
Noctua NH-U9B (so you can overclock that 3570K) http://www.novatech.co.uk/products/components/cooling/cpucoolers/multicpucoolers/nh-u9bse2.html

Gigabyte 7950 http://www.novatech.co.uk/products/...hicscards/amdhd7950series/gv-r795wf3-3gd.html

NZXT Phantom 410 in white (can get it in black if you don't like white) http://www.novatech.co.uk/products/components/cases/cases/815671010520.html
Samsung DVD-RW http://www.novatech.co.uk/products/components/opticaldrives/satadvdwriters/sh-224bbbebe.html
Corsair TX 650 V2 http://www.novatech.co.uk/products/components/powersupplies/cp-9020038-uk.html

SanDisk Extreme 120GB (install your OS on this) http://www.novatech.co.uk/products/...nal/solidstate/upto120gb/sdssdx-120g-g25.html
Seagate 1TB (install your games on this) http://www.novatech.co.uk/products/components/harddrives-internal/sata1tbto1.5tb/st1000dm003.html

Total comes to £978.84 including VAT.

You could get a 7970 with your budget, but it would mean you wouldn't be able to buy the CPU cooler, and because you're going for a 3570K, which is a great CPU for overclocking, it makes sense to buy a nice cooler and overclock it.

So the set-up you said is the best for gaming ? Also if my funds allowed should I increase the RAM from 8GB to 16GB.

Thank you for your help

Yep it's just about the best setup you can get for a grand. You can go 16GB of you want, I don't see why not, but 8GB is enough.

Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UD4H

Hello,

I am unsure what motherboard to go with for my gaming rig.
Currently I have:
i5 3570K
8GB RipJaws-X 2133MHz
Corsair H60
PNY GTX680
NZXT Phantom 410
Samsung DVD-RW
Corsair TX 850 V2
Samsung SSD 120GB
Seagate 1TB.

Now should I go with the new asus sabertooth Z77 or should I go with something different. My budget limit is 180£.

Thanks

You also don't need a 850W PSU but at $120 on newegg right now, damn good buy.

That's going to be a killer rig btw.

Also, seriously, unless you want to do extreme overclocking, you wont need half of the stuff on that motherboard.

Spend 80 quid on a motherboard and 100 quid on a kickass pair of USB gaming headphones. It will be by several orders of magnitude more noticeable and impactful on gaming.

I think I would get a UD3H mininum, and some good headphones. I don't like headsets, audio quality is a fair bit worse for more.
