Laptop overheating, software problem?

Hey guys I think the situation is a bit complicated here, after 2 years of nice working, gaming and everything, finally it has started overheating.
The temps were nearing 100 degree C so I called Dell and they changed the HSF, that reduced the temps by 5 degree C, I know gaming on laptop is very bad, but it did not over heat these two years.

Even after changing the heatsink fan it is still touching 95 degree Celsius.
Dell told me that it may be a software problem so they telling me to re-install windows, which I totally want to avoid.

What do you guys think? what should be the reason? BTW while browsing the internet the temps are nice at 55 degree C.

btw my specs are i7 2630QM, GT 540M, 4GB RAM 1333MHz.

Given the specs mentioned, that laptop isn't going to run very cool regardless. Be sure there's plenty of elevation and breathing room around any and all vents.

As for a software issue, that isn't too far fetched. Laptops can struggle to keep themselves cool. Check task manager and see what CPU usage you're hovering at when idle.
