PS4/Xbox One Headset Compatibility? Will Current Headsets Work With It?

I have been looking around the internet for a while now, seeking a new pair of gaming headphones which I can use with my PC in the meantime, as well as with one of the next-gen consoles when they come out later this year (probably the PS4). The problem is, I have no idea what to buy as I don't know whether they're going to be compatible with the next-gen consoles.

All I have been able to find is a couple of pictures regarding the PS4's outputs and audio ports:

What type of headset will I have to buy if I want compatibility with the PS4 (or next-gen consoles in general)? I have no idea how the mic system will work... or anything....

Also, the sort of headset I'm after is one with Dolby surround sound, and in particular noise cancelling audio to block out external sounds (not a noise cancelling mic... noise cancelling audio). If you have any suggestions for a pair of compatible headphones, that would be great too.

Any advice will be most appreciated!

The PS4 will have Bluetooth so I imagine they'll keep it compatible with any standard Bluetooth headset like the PS3.

There are some headsets being made that will work for the One that are not just Microsoft branded.

I know for sure that Turtle Beach has signed a contract with Microsoft to make headsets that will work with the new jack and I believe possibly Madcatz as well.

As for the PS4, I can't find anything stating that your old headsets will or will not work, so I am assuming they will. As PohTayToez points out... bluetooth. The front of the system also have USB inputs which leads me to believe that standard audio gaming headsets will work with the PS4 as well. (Astro, Tritton, Skullcandy, Turtle Beach, etc)

As for headsets that will have active noise cancellation for audio... I honestly cannot think of any outside of the Beats and other higher end headphones which are for specifically that... audio listening, not gaming.

Even the $300+ Turtles and Astros don't have noise cancellation to my knowledge.

Idk, but check sennheiser's gaming lineup, professional audio headphones and mics together in one, but they cost a butt load!

For your situation(gaming), Turtle Beach. Sennheiser's are better, but cost a fortune, and in many ways, over kill. Turtle Beach offers a great product for a good price.

I know Turtle Beach offers Xbox 360, PS3 and Microsoft Headsets. So I'm pretty sure that they will have headsets for the new consoles when they are launched.
