You never did answer my question if you could boot to windows in regular mode?

Would advise you to uninstall the following.

DriverTuner 3.0.1.0 - Always get driver updates from the hardware manufacturer
Java Auto Updater
Java(TM) 6 Update 31 - old and outdated
Microsoft Security Client - You already have security essentials installed, only need 1
PC Tools Registry Mechanic 11.0 - not needed junk software
System Checkup 3.0 - not needed junk software

Then go here to download and install the latest version of java.

Before i did that stuff with Combofix that you told me to, i was not able to start windows like i normally do. Are you asking if i can do it now? Because I tried recently, i think today, and it would freeze while that blue bar goes from left to right while loading. i will uninstall those programs you told me to do. Also, should i go to control panel and go to add/remove programs and uninstall the stuff, or should i look for the program itself on startup and uninstall from there? Or does it matter? One program i can't find to uninstall on Add/Remove Programs is Java Auto Updater. Java(TM) 6 Update 31 however cannot be uninstalled on safe mode. That could be a problem because i can't run Normal Mode without it freezing 5-6 times before it works. I was able to find and uninstall some of the programs you listed for me to uninstall, but i lost track of them...Argh...Is there a way to find out which ones i uninstalled and which ones i need to uninstall?

Some programs can be uninstalled in safe mode, others can't. You will just have to try and see. You may just be forced to reinstall windows. I'm trying to do everything I can to help.

I did just try starting the computer in normal mode, it wouldn't let me. I could try to do it 5-6 times and it might work, should i try that? Isn't there the chance that could damage the computer? I still cannot find my copy of Windows XP that came as a CD, is there a way to get it legally?

For those programs which you cannot uninstall in SAFE MODE,you can always delete the entire folder which contains the data of those programs and after that just delete all invalid registry (including all the invalid registry for those programs's folders which you have deleted) using Eusing free registry cleaner.

If folder cannot be deleted within Windows then you can always load Linux Ubuntu directly from CD and then delete the folders from there.

I sent you a private message.

Your help might not be necessary. I was searching through the boxes in my room, and i found this gold CD that i had before, but had temporarily lost until now, that says, "Windows, XP Home Edition, includes Service Pack 2, Version 2002." I have to figure out if that is the CD that goes with my PC.

Sorry, didn't mean to insult you, what i mean was, i found a gold disk that says "Windows, XP Home Edition, includes Service Pack 2, Version 2002." I have to call tech support and see if it goes with my computer.

You didn't. Isn't there a cdkey on the case of the cd?

I didn't what? And the CD is in a thin paper case. It has numbers underneath a barcode. But no CD key as far as i can see. My PC is a Dell PC, it has a Product Key, a Service Tag, and an Express Service Code. On the side of the PC, it has a sticker that says, "Windows XP Home Edition OEM Software" and below it, there is another set of numbers next to the words, "Product Key" (the words Product Key appear again), and "Proof of License Certificate of Authenticity" is also on the PC case. Also, on the left, there is a barcode with some numbers. There are maybe 1-2 more sets of numbers, but i don't know if they are important.

If you have a dell computer then the windows XP install cd will say dell on it. The cdkey is a 25 digit alpha numberic sequence. It will be on that sticker on the side of the case.

The CD doesn't say Dell on it. But it is Windows XP Home Edition like the one on my PC.

One more thing, if i uninstall windows and install it again, would using the free word document programs out there be good enough to use for school? meaning making documents using those free programs, and maybe using them through microsoft word on a computer at school.

Open office.org

This software is compatible with Word, excel and stuff.

John, the strange thing was, i was able to use normal mode on my PC. I don't know if this is just happened due to lucky chance, so while i still can, i want to find it for sure if i deleted all the programs you just listed:

DriverTuner 3.0.1.0 - Always get driver updates from the hardware manufacturer
Java Auto Updater
Java(TM) 6 Update 31 - old and outdated
Microsoft Security Client - You already have security essentials installed, only need 1
PC Tools Registry Mechanic 11.0 - not needed junk software

I know i deleted some of them for sure, but i'm not sure if i deleted all of them. Is there a way to find out if i did? Sorry for bugging you, as you probably noticed, i'm not good with computers. None of the programs i just listed are on the add/remove programs list.
