When you put the disk in the CD drive and try to boot from it, do you get the option to run it as a livecd? or does the installer just start?

The steps I linked depend on being able to boot it as a livecd.

If you can disable the wireless (what I've found seems to suggest that this is the issue) you may be able to install it without doing anything else.

One way or another you should be able to install Ubuntu on it. It may take a few tries though. It seems ridiculous to me that this would block the Ubuntu installer.

When i put in the cd i press c on the keyboard and starts the install right a way asks me if is New York regian then asks to put name and password, asks me to put some key for the keyboard or leave default, then at some time presents me with the partions i want, i choose one partion full hhd then i also can choose manually chosen install software it presents me all the software that is gona be installed i choose auto ,but this is similar to ubuntu 12.04 but with diferent conf.

I literally had this exact same problem once trying to install Lubuntu on a PowerMac G4, but I can't for the life of me remember how I fixed it. If it gives you hope, I do know for sure that I did eventually get it working. :)

Yeah, if I remember right, I think it was a graphics driver issue. Do you have any spare PCI or AGP cards that you could try to boot with?

Do you have an iMac, or a PowerMac? I'm unsure if the iMacs have swappable graphics cards, but the PowerMacs should have an AGP slot, which you could possibly swap another card into.

Sorry I can't read what it says on the screen but it looks like you've gotten to the command line and it's otherwise working. If you were expecting a GUI, perhaps you installed a lighter version than you meant to?

Try typing startx when you get to the command prompt. If you get an error message like "command not found" try sudo apt-get install ubuntu-desktop and then try startx again.

This is definitely something similar to what happened to me, and something that I've also seen happen even on x86 Linux installations. Have you tried any of the suggestions on this page?

Btw, nice piano playing. :)

Thanks, i do what can, i learned music and how to play by myself,
about the ubuntu installation i'll give it a try on that link, thanks.
