Overheat damage unknown

Today when I was out at work, a friend turned on my computer and apparently turned it off soon after (from her account) and then left the house herself. When I came home the room smelt acidic and after trying to turn my computer on to success, found out the smell was coming from my motherboard. I later took my computer apart and cleaned all the dust out of it and tried to look for a burnt out processor or worst but could not see anything (Heat sinks and fans are obstructing the view of my processors).

I got it back working and am unsure what actually happened to the poor thing and if there is any damage. I am overclocking which is why prior to this incident I did ask my mate not to go on it but you know how woman are.

Now my question is how would I look for damage if it has been overheated slightly but is still working and is there a way to find out what actually happened? .... bloody woman :(

will attached a copy of system specs.
Thank you for the help :)

Don't make sense. Your friend turned it on, used it and then turn it off. Don't seem different than if you'd turned it on and off yourself.

Unless it was left on when your friend left and then hurried back before you?

If you want to find a burnt/overheated spot roll up a sheet of paper and sniff around the motherboard with it. You'll know when you hit it.
