I7-720QM in N4010

So I got a 720QM pretty cheap, and since my original CPU is an I3, I thought it would be a good upgrade. ow it should work on my Chipset, I have a HM57 in it. Now, when I put the CPU in it, the laptop didnt do anything, just the charge light pop on then off, I thought it was because I forgot the computer was still in standby, bu once I put the old cpu in and it turned on, I knew it was an issue with the cpu or possibly software issue. what should I dooo

Try updating the BIOS.

BIOS is updated to the latest

If this is a second generation chip it won't work.

it's under Previous Processors on the Intel site, not 2nd gen

Are you sure you can put that kind of CPU in this laptop? You might want to inquire on the dell forums.

Theres people that swapped for I5. Im pretty sure I seen a N4010 with a I7 in it. HM57 is supposed to support I7
