I currently watch a lot of shows on my laptop and would like a good pair of over the ear headphones. Just something that sounds good. Listen to music as well but no audiophile. As long as it sounds good i don't mind.

Currently have a pair of Thermaltake TteSport Shock that i got free with the purchase of computer for parents but don't like having the microhpone as it get in the way so would like ot get a pair with out.

I have the v-moda crossfade m-100s and I love them. They sound amazing and are comfortable. They come with two cords. One with a mic and one without. The mic is discrete enough that I don't even notice it though.

^ they better be amazing for $300.

I know I'll probably get a lot of crap for this but I have Bose AE2 headphones. I love the sound quality but more than that I can wear them for hours and still feel comfortable. they are light and have no pressure in the wrong areas. No mic, just one cord out of the left ear.

If you can find them on sale for less than $100 like I did, I would recommend them.

If you're on a budget I would HIGHLY suggest Monoprice 8323s

I've had them for about 2 weeks? now and I'm very happy with them. Very high quality and haven't found anything that sounded out of place or muddy.

Removable audio cable which is a HUGE plus for me.

I honestly can't rate it based on individual qualities as I don't know much about audio terminology but there are plenty of reviews you can read if you want more information.

Those do sound good I think but a few problems, bass is kind of lacking in my opinion, and cheap feeling construction in the headband and wires.

The Audio Technica M50's are frequently called some of the best headphones around and for good reason. They sound great are pretty comfortable and incredibly tough. They are kind of heavy on your head which can be bothersome after a while and they aren't as "pillowy" as other headphones like the Bose mentioned above. For pure sound quality go with the M50's if you can afford it.

What kind of budget are you looking at?

How tough are they? I'm hoping they're really tough so they can survive when i take them to the library to use them, and survive if i'm careless.

Are we talking about the Audio-Technica ATH-M50 Professional Studio Monitor Headphones with Coiled Cable? You called it the audio Technica M50, but i think they might be called the Audio-Technica ATH-M50 Professional Studio Monitor Headphones with Coiled Cable

The ATH M50s are called some of the best headphones around FOR THE PRICE. Big difference. If you want to spend a thousand dollars on headphones, ATH M50s won't come close. And fro. what I hear, they don't even have the crown for the price anymore. Also, they are great in music, but they are NOT made for multimedia like gaming and movies, something to do with the soundstage.

This got bumped. It's several months old.

And PC, I didn't outright say it but it's kind of implied that I was talking for around that price point. Of course you can buy something that sounds better for more money. And no idea what you're talking about not being "made" for multimedia. I use them for gaming and listening to videos all the time and they sound great.

I'm sure they sound decent for multimedia. But other headphones will sound maybe worse for music but much better for media for the same price.

And yes, I didn't see it was bumped.

I have Steelseries Siberia V2 Gaming Headphones/headset. The microphone is not noticeable, as its inside the headphones and you wouldn't even know its there. It's not really like other microphones, and it's not annoying. I use the illuminated version, which gives off a cool glow, and sound quality is pretty good. All for $120.
