New Computer Advice

Hi folks.

Been out of the loop as far as PCs go for a while, and am looking to build a new one.

Currently have: Keyboard, mouse, monitor. I'd include my Geforce GTX 460 SE video card, but not sure how it compares to some these days. I also do have a KINGWIN 750W CrossFire Ready Power Supply as well, but questioning the quality of this PSU. My last PC had a meltdown, and kept buying thing after thing to patch it, but I'm guessing the CPU/Mobo is the issue.

Regardless, so I potentially have a Keyboard, mouse, monitor, Graphics Card, and PSU, but I do not mind replacing any of them.

My budget is looking to be around $400-$600; ground up if needed. I'm looking to play EQNext once it comes out, or even Elder Scrolls Online even though it's going to be horrible I'm afraid, but that's neither here nor there.

I usually shop on Newegg, and I'm completely comfortable building my own PC myself as I have before.

Also, the only OS I have is a Vista 32-bit... so that will need upgrading as well... Windows 7 will run me about $100 or so I'm guessing, but I won't include that in the budget range.

If anyone has any suggestions or builds of their own I'd be grateful, or where should I start would be good to know as well. I'm guessing I should start with a decent Mobo/CPU, and then go from there.

Note: I prefer AMD, but I'm not picky.

Thank you for the list daisy.

I added them all into my Wish List, and added a dvd burner as well. I figure I'll just keep my Graphics card for now, maybe add my other HD in also just for additional space.

Trying to figure out what else I may need. The case has some fans included, but I'm hoping that will be sufficient for now.

Now I need to shop for an OS. I really dislike Windows 8, so I suppose I'll settle with Windows 7.

Also, I noticed this in the combo deals section = http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboBundleDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.1525549 . Wonder how it would compare. I'd be saving around $140, but I'm guessing it would just be better to spend that?

Think I will just go with your suggestions. Checked benchmarks for the mobo and cpu and they seem to quite good for their price. Thanks again.

Hi folks. I purchased everything that was suggested to me and just fired the pc up.

Only one thing I am concerned about... CPU is running at 58c, that is a little high for a first boot up right? Mainboard is at 28 to 29c.
