Should I use a 3GHz Pentium 4 or a 2.66GHz Core 2 Quad? Thanks.

Core 2 is gonna be faster.. Let me know if you find a good deal on one (possibly with a new mobo)..

I've got an 8300 and I'm looking to upgrade it just enough..

A Core2Quad will be much better than a P4.

A Pentium 4 is very old and performs almost 3x slower than the Core 2 Quad. The Quad is the way to go!

Thanks guys! One of my mobos died and it had a C2Q in it and that's what I'm gonna start using from now on.

If you are planning on the C2Q for the comp in your sig it won't work.

yeah the sockets are different
theres not much more room to upgrade that computer

might be able to get it up to 4gb, and plus the 3.2 might be a little faster. but it's time to upgrade

Time you got a new computer since the Core 2 Quad won't work in it.

The Core 2 Quad is like 6 years old now anyway, so I wouldn't really recommend spending money on one.
