Remote Desktop Connection Manager

Just wondering if anyone uses Remote Desktop Manager RDCman.

I'm trying to install on Windows 8 laptop but it won't open. When i go to install it says the install can't open as a .dll is missing. It doesn't list any name though so can't google the .dll to see what it belongs to. I have other people i know say they have installed it fine on windows 8 machines.

Any clues why I can't. I must need something else installed but at a lose to what. Its a microsoft program and doesn't list any other requirements. Windows 8 isn't listed as a supported os but as stated others have it fine.

If you know of another Remote Desktop program like this that I can save all my connections to groups etc to make it easier as I work in schools and connect to a lot of servers. After a desktop program not windows store app.

Thanks

How about creating individual connection shortcuts and adding them to a folder on your desktop? I don't really know of a manager myself.

From the MS download page for RDCMan:

Supported Operating System

Windows 7, Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows Vista

Users using Windows XP or Windows Server 2003 will need to obtain version 6 or newer of the Remote Desktop Connection client software. See the related downloads for more information.

I just downloaded and installed it on my Win 8.1 laptop and it appears to work fine. I didn't need to do anything special to make it work.

Maybe you somehow have an older version of the RDC Client installed?

That's odd that it reports a missing .dll but doesn't tell you which one.

Managed to get it installed.
I had to change the permissions on - C:\Users\%Username%\AppData\Local\Temp Foreveryone to full control. Then it would install with out a hitch.

Not sure why that would make it so a program could not install.
