Hi guys im new and need some help here

i build up a budget gaming pc with the spec as below

- Asus A88XM-A motherboard
- AMD A10 7850k APU processor
- Apacer Ram Desktop DDR3 GIANT II 8GB PC2133
- AVF PSU EXTREME POWER 750W

I make a clean install of Win8 Pro. I read on the forum on how to choose the profile on getting 2133mhz ram which i think i did it correctly and even upgraded to the latest bios update as well.

Here is where the problem. my desktop BSOD randomly once in awhile and mostly cant even past 24 hours of stability. been frustrated fixing it till past few days i tried lowering it down to 1866mhz and basically i got 48 hours of non bsod. so can anybody help me up here i wanna fix this up but i got no experience on ram management at all. from what i read in the forum would it be cause of :

- Ram not certified on the vendor list on asus site?
- Auto Tune voltage on 2133mhz on bios?
- Faulty on my ram or mobo?

PLEASE help me......i already try to tune the voltage up to 1.25V but still i got bsod. i could stream movie, play games like dota 2 and surfing the net like usual and it looks normal though.

i had the minidump file though i could upload if needed.

You probably need to make sure when its set at 2133 that the voltage and timing are set right for the memory. I always set mine manually instead of using memory profile setting.

Would absolutely recommend for you to check your timings. I had the same problem when I first built mine. My timing was at 9-9-9-27 when it needed to be at 9-10-9-27. It'll probably be different for you, but check anyway.

There should be model number listed on the memory sticks. Post that and we can get you what the timings should be.

See this image.

You enter your timings for the areas marked 9 9 9 24.

So in your bios you will need to find the following.

cas latency (cl) set to 11
ras to cas delay (trcd) set to 11
ras precharge (trp) set to 11
cycle time (tras) set to 30

just a question before i try the memtest. bad stick does it mean it is faulty? and btw if i can use lower frequency and running stable does the ram still consider as bad or having problem? i thought was only tuning / frequencies or voltage problem though

Thz for the advise. im not familiar with all these ram knowledge though

I would still test the ram. It might not be stable running it at its rated frequency. If you run it and get errors then you will need to test each individual stick to find out which one is bad or maybe both is bad.
